Hi everyone,
Hope you are all okay out there and keeping safe in the snow. I've not had any yet where I live and in a way I can't say I'm sorry about that!
Lately I've been trying to get to grips with water colours as we've always had a rocky relationship. Now I think I know why as I don't think I ever added enough water....yes a pretty basic thing but I suppose working with acrylics so much its not something I'm used to doing. I think I'm slowly getting there but any tips gratefully received ;)
A sketch for you today, linking up with Sunday Sketches as it's Sunday of course. The girl has turned into a bit of a wood nymph but that's the way they emerge from your pencil I suppose, how they want not how you want!
Windsor and Newton water colours, Distress Ink, Bockingford water colour paper, Donna Downey stencil and just take a look at this stamp given to me by my best crafty pal Amanda......my most favourite stamp ever!!
Hope you like it

I love watercoloring and think you did well, the face especially, subtle and lovely!
ReplyDeleteA great sketch, Donna, and very artistically (not to mention perfectly) colored! Although the hair is definitely longer than artist Jessica Sporn, this reminds me so much of her--even down to that blue-ish hair! ;-) Love it!
ReplyDeleteBrilliant piece Donna - She's fabulous - love her hair! And what a great and apt quote :)
ReplyDeleteHope your week going well.......Gill xx
It looks great Donna and love her hair. They can be tricky watercolours some time like you say not enough water or too much!!!!!! Great stencil and a good quote too!

Could have sworn I'd commented on this charming wood nymph - there's such a serene elegance about her.
