Show your Face
Hello everyone,
Today I'd like to highlight the absolute brilliant idea going on over at Kim Dellow's Art it Friday - Show your Face blog as for a few weeks now, she's been encouraging people to create their own artwork of faces. No stamps, digs or stencils just purely hand drawn faces.
Now, I'm passionate about drawing and I really believe EVERYONE can do it, there is no right or wrong,if you are happy with it that's all that matters. Don't get me wrong, I love my stamps too but sometimes we don't always have the right stamp to fit what we want to create do we?
Here's my drawing that I am linking up today, all hand drawn and coloured using Faber Castell Polychromos and then gone over with a black 01 Micron pen. There is one stamp in there, buried in her hair as I just love Dina Wakley's scribbly writing stamp :)
So grab a pencil and paper and get drawing, it doesn't take long but the satisfaction is wonderful :)
Hope you like it
Donna x

ReplyDeleteHOW do you get that sparkle in your eyes Donna!!! She is absolutely beautiful... Love the script stamp in her hair it adds such a fab texture. So glad you joining in as i get a lot of inspiration from reading all the entries, love Kim's Friday share.

Your drawn face is from a true drawing artist. She is gorgeous and has personality and intent. I must disagree with that we can all draw. I cannot. I know this because I am NEVER happy with a face I have drawn. So, isn't it wonderful that I can buy face stamps from artists that truly can draw them.
ReplyDeleteHi there, Donna! Really lovely to see you here! Your drawing is superb. I so love the way you did the eye! I've been really enjoying the opportunity to 'make faces' with Kim's link up! It's great to see all the inspiration out there too! xxx
ReplyDeleteWow Donna! Your drawing is just fabulous and so love the coloured face contrast to the hair. She looks so lovely.

Love your girl Donna, the writing in the hair is fab and compliments her beauty wonderfully. You are really developing your own style and it's a pleasure watching it develop. Big hugs xxx
ReplyDeleteYou are a woman after my own heart Donna! I totally agree that we can all draw, although it has taken me time to get there as I was lacking in confidence and that is exactly why I started the link up. Try and encourage everyone to have a go and find confidence in doing! Thank you so much for linking to Art It Friday - Show Your Face, I love your face and wonderful hair, and thank you for the fabulous shout out too. Kx
ReplyDeleteWow, you are so talented at drawing Donna. Fabulous artwork.
