Hi everyone,
Hope you are all okay out there.
I think I need new glasses, I thought I picked up a set of Gouache paints at the weekend, got home, looked at them and turns out they are oil paints! Which probably won't be used as there is too much faffing around with oil painting for me, plus the smell....yuck!
A quick sketch of a thoughtful girl for you using just Prima water colour pencils (skin and hair tones) on Bockingford water colour paper.
Hope you like it

A beauty with those sweet eyes. She looks a bit shy, too. Nicely done!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous girl. Such mysterious eyes.

She's lovely Donna, I like her a lot!
ReplyDeleteWhen I was in my teens I had a thing for oil paints, I love the look of them but from a practical point of view they are a nightmare - take weeks to dry, horrible smell, awful to clean up the brushes...
Hugs,

I do like it!! Shes beautiful!!
ReplyDeleteShe's really lovely Donna and sorry to hear about the oil mix up! Maybe you could take them back and change them - might need to squint so they know eyesight is to blame :D xx

ooooh she is really gorgeous Donna - love the way you have painted her hair and the colours you have used..
ReplyDeleteSorry about the paints - I've nearly done that - people pick stuff up and put them down in wrong place, and the same brand does different paint in similar packaging... maybe they would exchange them - worth asking maybe?

ReplyDeleteShe's great and they eyes are brilliant. I hate it when you buy the wrong thing by mistake - hopefully you can return them. Happy SS x

Love the big sparkly eyes in your spunky portrait. I don't care for working with oil paints much either, so I can relate to your experience. Happy Sunday Sketches! #17
ReplyDeletebeautiful beautiful work, I gave up oils a few years ago, now only work in watercolor, I did like oils though,,
ReplyDeletegreat eyes. Too bad about the paints. Oil paints take too long to dry - have only tried them once.
ReplyDeleteDonna, I LOVE her! She's got a great personality and I want to hang out with her. I think I'm going to work on growing out my hair like hers. I love her do too!
ReplyDeleteLovely face, and the hair is just so beautiful! Lovely work!
ReplyDeleteHope you can return the paints, Donna.

Oh yes, I like it so much! Her hair and her eyes look beautiful and I love it so much how you sprinkle the paper. This look perfect!
ReplyDeleteShe's really delightful, Donna - definitely one of my favourites of your faces - with such a sweet expression and wonderful colour tones in the hair.

Beautifully done... pity about the paint mix up. You are the 2nd person to mention gouache. Will have to look into these paints a bit more.
ReplyDeleteOh Em Gee! She's gorgeous, Donna! So few people do blondes which makes her even more special. Her pensive look for me is in those lips! So very well done!
