Journal page

Hello everyone,

Well at least its sunny today in my part of the UK....after a horrendous wet and windy start! Had to give in and the heating's on now....Autumn is really here now then.

I promised you a few days ago when I showed you all the cover of my Journal book that if you were good I would maybe let you see inside. Some of you stated that you couldn't ever be good.....yes Annie I am talking about you.......so for those of you that have been behaving you can see a page in the Journal.

I am entering this into the following challenge:

The Mirror Crack'd,The Body Beautiful

Fresco paint,Archival inks, posca and micron pens, charcoal pencils,Stampendous circle stencil (in the background). The girl image is drawn freehand and the stamps used are mine that I have carved.

Hope you like it

Donna x

  1. Hi Inky!
Oh wow, this is sooo awesome! How did you do that? The background is brilliant, it's like some funky digital art, just better because it is real. Love the pattern. Those carved stamps are awesome! I might have to try to carve some myself...

  2. Love your journal page,brilliant background.xxx

  3. Just love all the doodling and the colours are fab. Ruth xx

  4. Wow, a freehand drawing and carved stamps, you're really an artist. That's a fantastic page.

  5. Lots of your own work on this page, Donna! I love the idea of your own carved stamps and your central figure is lovely. The page is so full of energy! I love it! Julie Ann xxx

  6. What a wonderful page with lots of techniques and great colours. I am especially envious of the freehand drawing of the girl since I can't draw straight line without a ruler. Thanks for joining us at The Mirror Crack'd.

  7. So you can draw and you carve your own stamps! Hellooooo! Is there anything you can't do!! You constantly amaze me Donna, with both your skill and your creativity! This is just amazing, love every bit of it! big hugs :)

  8. Oh Donna..this is a fantastic Mixed Media Page .. I am happy that you started with the Art Journaling now definitively --- you will see what fun that is and how you can see your development of art by browsing your pages in the end.. and after this by browsing your journals...... and you will feel and see that you grow with every new page ....

You ask me which kind of colors I use...
oh all sorts ... in this particular piece
I used acrylics (mixed brands.. mostly cheap ones) - and in between the layers it is sealed with Modge Podge.
It's a technique where you wipe away the colors from your motifs...

  9. Loving the egg and leaf shapes you have carved Donna and of course the body beautiful. A stunning journal page! Thank you for letting us see inside :-) xxx

  10. Hello Miss Donna, wow you are a BRILLIANT artist, drawing making your own stamps, shut the door, this page is soooooo creative, love the eggs, the ovals, the colors and how kool is her outfit, I'm so glad I was good, I wouldn't have wanted to miss this for anything, can't wait for the next page, thanks for sharing hope you have a wonderful week, ((( BIG HUGS )))...
