Today's post is a big thank you to the lovely Ellen Vargo. I am sure you all know her and her gorgeous colourful work but in case you don't her blog is here.
Anyway,to cut a long story short,Ellen has produced some wonderful new stamps in conjunction with Paperartsy and she was doing a giveaway on her blog for a couple of sets of them. As I am a follower anyway,I left a comment and won one of the set of circle stamps! I really am one of those saddos that NEVER win anything so you can imagine when I did how I felt....poor Ellen must have thought I was completely loopy as I was so happy to have won!
As I am progressing in my methods,I now realise the importance of backgrounds. When I first started I was all for the 'main' image stamp but now I am understanding the importance of adding depth via layers to everything you do. That's why I love these stamps so much, I absolutely adore circles and dots as they seem to compliment everything.
I thought I would try and do something different with this set of stamps. I was going to do a version of Ellen's gorgeous 'double ' tags she did for Paperartsy but really I couldn't improve on that so best to go a different route!
I thought I would do one of the flowers with some petals missing as flowers are never perfect are they and use the chit chat sayings as leaves to emphasise it.....see,nothing is thrown together here!
Ellen's stamp set EEV06,fresco paints,distress inks.
I am pleased with the way it turned out, nice and bright!
Hope you like it.
